According to the wraparound jacket band on the eighth compiled book volume of Gamon Sakurai's Ajin manga, the Ajin anime adaptation will have a second season, which will air in October.
The manga is about Kei Nagai, who discovers he is an immortal "Ajin" when he is hit by a truck. He becomes a wanted person because the Ajin are considered "criminals" and the only person who is there to support him is his best friend, Kaito.
POLYGON PICTURES animated both the television anime and the three-part anime film adaptation. The TV anime and films made by the same main staff.
The Ajin series received a trilogy movie adaptation. The first film "Ajin: Shōdō" aired in Japan last November. The second film, titled Ajin: Shōtotsu, will air in Japan on May 6 to May 26. The last film, Ajin: Shōgeki (Ajin: Crash), will air in Japan on September 23.
A limited edition of the manga's eighth volume will bundle an original anime DVD and a limited edition of the ninth volume will also bundle an OAD when it ships on October 7.
The series began publication in Kodansha's magazine good! Afternoon in 2012.
